More than $52,000 was raised Saturday, April 1st at the 37th Annual Cloud County Community College Foundation Scholarship Auction at the Cloud County Fairgrounds in Concordia.

Heather Gennette, Director of the Cloud County Community College Foundation, said that total is just the result of the silent and live auctions, and does not include the purchase of tickets and tables or monetary donations they received.

This year's theme was "Shaken, Not Stirred -- It's All About the Bond."

During the event, Kim Reynolds, Vice President for Student Affairs and Advancement, presented Liza van der Merwe, a Freshman from Linn, Kansas, with a $1,000 scholarship.

van der Merwe discussed the impact scholarship dollars have on her and her fellow students.

van der Merwe also said her time at Cloud County Community College has been amazing.

100% of all Auction proceeds will go directly to the Cloud County Community College General Scholarship Fund, thereby making Cloud County an option for many students who otherwise would not be able to attend college.
