Man Killed Following a One-Vehicle Accident on US Highway 36 in Jewell County Wednesday

A Fairbury, Nebraska man was killed Wednesday, April 19th following a one-vehicle accident on US Highway 36 in Jewell County.
According to a report from the Kansas Highway Patrol, a 2002 International being driven by Frederick Dowling, 63 of Fairbury, was traveling westbound on US Highway 36 .3-miles west of 270th Road when Dowling drove left of center off the roadway into the south ditch, striking a field access drive. This caused Dowling's vehicle to go airborne, overturning on its passenger side facing to the southwest. Dowling, who was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the accident, was ejected from the vehicle.
Dowling was taken to the Jewell County Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
The accident occurred at 2:31 pm Wednesday.
