Concordia Fire Department Responds to Electrical Fire at Historic Bankers Loan and Trust Company Building

Crews with the Concordia Fire Department responded Thursday, July 6th to a small, contained electrical fire at the Historic Bankers Loan and Trust Company Building at 517 Broadway Street in downtown Concordia.
Concordia City Fire Chief Eric Voss told KNCK News they were alerted to the fire by someone passing by the area Thursday evening.
The Bankers Loan and Trust Company is a two-story, Queen Anne-style brick building located on a corner lot in downtown Concordia. The building was constructed in 1887 and 1888 by W. H. Parsons and C. Howard Parsons of Topeka. The building was nominated to the National and State Registers of Historic Places for its architecture and for its association with the economic and commercial development of Concorida.
