The Cloud County Community College Foundation has received a $1,000 grant from the Leva and Frank Duclos Foundation to help them purchase items for a new holiday food pantry established for college students.

The effort is being led by Cloud Cares, a new philanthropy group aligned with the Cloud County Community College Foundation.

Heather Gennette, Director of the College Foundation, told KNCK News she wanted to organize a food pantry for students living on-campus over their extended holiday break that won't have access to the college cafeteria for more than a month.

Gennette said the college's Student Senate and the Student Activities Board helped raise donations this fall by holding a food drive to support the food pantry.

The Cloud County Community College Foundation's mission is to develop, improve, advance, and support endeavors of Cloud County Community College.
