The Cloud County Community College Board of Trustees met for a special meeting Tuesday, March 13th where they entered into two executive sessions for non-elected personnel, adding up to 45-minutes in length. No action was taken at the end of the sessions.
Tuesday marked the first meeting for the board since Cloud County Community College President Dr. Mark Smith announced his resignation. Dr. Smith, who has only been president since February 1st, will end his brief tenure with the college April 13th.
Dr. Smith attended both executive sessions Tuesday. College Director of Human Resources Chris Wilson was also involved in both sessions, while College Attorney Justin Ferrell was part of the first executive session.
A statement released last week following Dr. Smith's resignation said "the board of trustees is exploring all options to find the next president of Cloud County Community College." At the end of Tuesday's meeting, Trustee Larry Henry asked his fellow board members to consider what the board would like to do in the interim once President Smith exits the college.
