The National Weather Service Office in Topeka has issued a Heat Advisory for North Central Kansas through 8 pm Friday, July 13th.

Afternoon temperatures will be in the middle 90s to around 100 degrees. Combined with the humidity, it will feel more like 100 to 107 degrees. Additionally there may not be much relief overnight as lows only fall into the middle 70s.

A Heat Advisory means that a period of hot weather is expected, during which heat illnesses are possible. Limit your outdoor activities during this time, stay in an air-conditioned building, and check up on relatives and neighbors. While outside, drink plenty of water, wear light and loose fitting clothing, and reduce strenuous activities.
