The Broadway Plaza in Concordia's five-month free summer movie and concert series continued Thursday, August 9th with the 1971 fantasy film "Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory," based on the 1964 Roald Dahl novel "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory."

The story of a candy manufacturer who stages a contest by hiding five golden tickets in five of his scrumptious candy bars earned star Gene Wilder a Golden Globe nomination that year for Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy, while the movie also picked up an Oscar nomination for Best Original Score.

The movie began at 7 pm. Concessions were provided by Heart Choices.
