Nearly 600 total meals were served Thursday, November 22nd at the annual Free Concordia Community Thanksgiving Day Dinner held at the National Guard Armory. Volunteers delivered close to 200 meals from 11 am to noon, while a sit down meal was served at the armory from noon to 1 pm.

Lisa Valcoure, organizer of the event, tells KNCK News about the annual dinner.

This year's meal count topped last year's final number by almost 100 total meals.

Valcoure expressed appreciation to all the volunteers that donate their time to support the event.

This year, Concordia Mayor Sam Sacco and his wife Beth volunteered their time serving the meal.

Other volunteers this year included the Cloud County Community College Men's Basketball team and coaches Jordan Altman and Todd Johnston.

The Cloud County Men's Basketball team will host the Cloud County Thanksgiving Classic on Friday, November 23rd and Saturday, November 24th. At 7 pm Friday, Cloud County will clash with North Platte Community College. The T-Birds will close out the tournament Saturday at 4 pm against Iowa Western Community College.
