The Concordia High School Girls Basketball team won its third straight game Tuesday, February 14th with a 48-20 road win over the Phillipsburg Panthers.
Concordia, which has won six of its last seven outings, improved its overall record to 13-5 on the year. The team will host Wamego on Friday, February 17th.
Concordia held Phillipsburg without a field-goal for the entire first quarter as Concordia led 10-1 at the end of the opening period. Midway through the second quarter, though, Phillipsburg would get going offensively, including a brief 8-4 run, that allowed them to be down only by 12 points at the halftime break, 23-11.
Concordia's 2-3 zone defense was much more active in the second-half, and the Lady Panthers outscored Phillipsburg 25-9 over the final two quarters to secure the 28 point win.
Concordia was led Tuesday by Sophomore Mykah Eshbaugh who finished with 13 points. Joining Eshbaugh in double-figures was Junior Jessica Williams who finished with 10 points. Junior Cydney Bergmann added 9 points and a team-high 8 rebounds.
