The Cloud County Community College women's soccer team dropped a heartbreaker on Tuesday, falling 3-2 on the road against Northwest Kansas Technical College in overtime.

"We beat ourselves," said Cloud County head coach, James Ross. "The shots were probably 20-5 in our favor. We had opportunities to win it, but couldn't find a way to finish."

Cloud County (2-2 overall, 2-1 KJCCC West) trailed the Mavericks (3-0 overall, 1-0 KJCCC West) 2-1 at the half, receiving a goal from freshman midfielder Katherine Rojas set up by an Abigail Conway corner kick.

The T-Birds rallied to tie the score on a penalty kick in the second half via a penalty kick off the foot of freshman Ingrid Castro.

Northwest Kansas Technical College put the game on ice, though, two minutes into the overtime period.

Cloud County will look to bounce back this Saturday when it returns home to host Barton Community College. Game time is set for 2 p.m.
