Concordia High School Volleyball Team Takes Two from Chapman, Wins League Title

The Concordia High School Volleyball team has earned the 2017 North Central Kansas League title following a road sweep Tuesday, October 10th of the Chapman Irish.

Concordia won the first match in straight sets 25-17, 25-15. Senior Cydney Bergmann led the way with 7 kills, 2 blocks and 7 digs. Senior Jessica Williams added 6 kills, 5 blocks and 6 digs, while Senior Laken Schroeder finished with 54 good sets in 55 attempts with 16 assists, 9 digs, 4 kills and 1 block.

The Lady Panthers then won the second match in straight sets 25-14, 25-18. Bergmann finished with 8 kills, 1 block and 8 digs. Williams had 8 kills, 3 blocks and 5 digs. Schroeder contributed 36 good sets in 36 attempts with 15 assists, 3 kills, 5 aces, 1 block and 9 digs.

Concordia concludes NCKL play at 9-1, and has improved their overall record to 28-4 on the season. The team will close out its regular season Saturday, October 14th at the Sabetha Invitational.
