Concordia Baseball Team Opens NCKL Play with Two Losses at Wamego

The Concordia High School Baseball team suffered their first two losses of the 2018 season Thursday, April 12th, as the Panthers opened North Central Kansas League (NCKL) play with two road losses to Wamego.
Concordia dropped the first game of the doubleheader 11-7. Senior Reliever Tyler Stupka took the loss on the mound. Concordia Senior Billy Bechard started the game, going 5 innings and allowing 7 runs. Senior Catcher Brent Beaumont put the Panthers on top with a late go-ahead home run, but Wamego responded with 5 runs in the sixth to pick up the win.
Bechard led Concordia at the plate with two hits and two RBIs.
The Red Raiders then handed Concordia 6-5 loss in game two. Junior Pitcher Dyelan Reed took the loss, going 3 1/3 innings. Freshmen Chase Parker and Chas Carlgren also saw time on the mound.
Sophomore Jacob Williams scored three of the team's five runs, while Reed recorded two RBIs in the loss.
Concordia now sits at 4-2 on the season and 0-2 in NCKL play.
