Clyde - Groundbreaking Ceremony for a New, Comprehensive Clyde Family Physicians Clinic
Construction of a new, comprehensive Clyde Family Physicians clinic is set to begin in mid-July 2019.
In April, Clyde Family Physicians announced plans to construct a new, comprehensive 4,400-square foot medical clinic in Clyde. The clinic, which will be located across the street from the Park Villa Nursing Home, will be handicap-accessible and will feature six modern exam rooms, a large procedure room, in-house laboratory, a comfortable waiting room, and all associated support spaces.
On Monday, July 8th, Clay County Medical Center CEO Austin Gillard will be the featured speaker at an Informational Meeting at 7 pm at the Branch, located at 104 S. Chestnut Street in Clyde. The Clyde Lions Club is hosting this event as an opportunity for the public to hear about the clinic project and see the site plan and floor plan for the clinic.
Clay County Hospital Foundation Director Dan Thalmann will also discuss the fundraising campaign that was created to assist in paying for the equipment and furnishings in the $1 million building project. The effort will include a limited number of room-naming opportunities and a donor recognition board listing all of the donors to the campaign.
A second event, a traditional groundbreaking ceremony, will be held at the new site at 9 am on Friday, July 12th. The ceremony will include speakers and a ceremonial first dig. Involved will be the medical providers who serve Clyde Family Physicians, Clay County Medical Center Trustees, and other local dignitaries. Refreshments of Tasty Pastry donuts and Java Junkies coffee will be served during the event and the public is welcome to attend to learn more about the project and see the groundbreaking.
Construction is scheduled to begin the week of July 15th. Completion is expected to take between five to six months. A ribbon cutting and grand opening will be held when the new clinic is ready to open.
Clyde Family Physicians has been in operation since February of 1990 and in their current location since June of 1991. The clinic, which is open from 8 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday, provides comprehensive medical care to patients from a large region, including multiple counties. Their largest patient base is from Clyde, followed by Concordia.
