Brown Grand Theatre Receives $115K Grant for “Seating the Next Generation”

The Brown Grand Opera House, Inc. is the proud recipient of a generous $115,000 grant from the Dane G. Hansen Foundation.  This gift will support “Seating the Next Generation” – a capital campaign to replace the 94-year-old seats in their beloved, historic Theatre.

Melissa Swenson, Chair of the Seating Committee and Board Member at the Brown Grand, says, “We are ecstatic to have support for this project from the Dane G. Hansen Foundation.  A gift of this size is transformational for the Theatre and for our community.  We are honored to have been selected by the Foundation and we couldn’t be more pleased to have them as a dedicated partner in this project.”

The grant from Dane G. Hansen, along with other grants and gifts, has put the campaign at 81% to goal.  There are more grants and fundraising initiatives in process, and the Committee feels confident in getting this project completed this year.

The Brown Grand invites you to make a gift to help them reach their fundraising goal.  Please mail your contribution to the Brown Grand Theatre at 310 W. 6th Street in Concordia, designated with Seating the Next Generation, or make a secure gift online at www.browngrand.org.  Every donation makes an impact here at the Brown Grand.  If you are interested in purchasing some of the old seats, please email us at director@browngrand.org or call us at (785) 243-2553 for more details.
