Kansas Highway Patrol Releases Independence Day Holiday Activity Report

The Kansas Highway Patrol has released its Independence Day Holiday Activity Report. The reporting period for the holiday ran from 6 pm on Wednesday, July 3rd through 11:59 pm on Sunday, July 7th. 

The Kansas Highway Patrol worked one fatal crash over the holiday.  A 7-year old Syracuse boy was killed in a rollover ATV accident in Hamilton County in western Kansas on July 6th. 

According to their enforcement data, personnel with the patrol assisted 1,151 motorists.

28 DUI arrests were made during the reporting period.  1,131 speed citations were also issued this year, while officers provided 956 speed warnings. And 247 adult safety belt citations were issued, along with 38 child restraint citations.
