Karlee Wahlmeier and John Tyler Crowned 2020 Winter Sports Queen and King at Concordia High School

Concordia High School Seniors Karlee Wahlmeier and John Tyler were crowned the 2020 Winter Sports Queen and King on Tuesday, February 11th.

Karlee is the daughter of Mike and Joni Wahlmeier.  Karlee participates in tennis, basketball, track and field, FCA, Friends of Rachel, Student Council, Delta Chi and Chamber Choir.  Karlee plans to attend college and major in criminal justice and continue to play basketball.

John is the son of James and Martha Tyler.  John participates in Spanish Club, Scholars Bowl and Drama.  John plans to attend Kansas State University to major in computer science and obtain an internship with Koch Brothers in Wichita.

This year's other queen candidates were Rachelle Anderson, Maddie Blochlinger, Arista Bombardier and Terryl Loeffler.

Rachelle is the daughter of Robert and Charlotte Anderson.  Rachelle participates in 4-H as Council President, FFA as President, Kansas Gelbvieh Junior Association as Vice President, American Gelbvieh Junior Association, softball, band, trap shooting, National Honor Society, 4-H Ambassadors, Kansas Junior Livestock Association, Concordia Hurricanes Swim Team, and Jamestown United Methodist Church.  Rachelle plans to attend Northwest Missouri State University to major in animal science, agriculture data, and information systems.

Maddie is the daughter of Justin and Jamie LeDuc.  Maddie participates in golf, FBLA and journalism.  Maddie plans to attend Cloud County Community College and graduate with her associate degree in nursing.

Arista is the daughter of Bryan and Michelle Bombardier.  Arista participates in tennis, softball, choir, art, yearbook and the Deep - Our Lady of Perpetual Help Youth Council.  Arista plans to attend Cloud County Community College before transferring to a university in Kansas.

Terryl is the daughter of Mike and Missy Loeffler.  Terryl participates in volleyball, basketball, track and field, FBLA and Friends of Rachel.  Terryl plans to attend Washburn University for radiation therapy.

This year's other king candidates were Layton Kindel, Tristan Mikesell, Kyle Palmquist and Robert Trost.

Layton is the son of Darin and Loni Kindel.  Layton participates in Baptist Church Youth Group, wrestling and football.  Layton plans to attend Universal Technical Institute in Dallas, Texas for automotive and diesel technician.

Tristan is the son of Bill and Katie Mikesell.  Tristan participates in Student Council, Jayhusker Racing and Coonhunters Deluxe.  Tristan plans to attend Fort Hays State University to major in drafting.

Kyle is the son of Steven Palmquist and Nicole Clark.  Kyle participates in football and track and field.  Kyle plans to attend college to major in health sciences.

Robert is the son of Brian and Janet Trost.  Robert participates in football, wrestling and Coonhunters Deluxe.  Robert plans to attend North Central Kansas Technical College for automotive mechanics.

This year's Winter Sports Dance will take place on Saturday, February 15th from 10 pm to midnight in the Concordia High School Junior Varsity Gym.  Wing Productions will provide the music.  Admission is $3 per person.  Outside guests must be registered via a guest form in the Concordia High School office and provide photo ID when attending.
