Tracie L. Nelson

Tracie L. Nelson, age 33, of Jamestown, left this earthly life after a brief but courageous battle with inflammatory breast cancer, on Friday, June 7, 2019 at the Republic County Hospital in Belleville, Kansas. She was born on March 18, 1986 to Tom and Shari (Behymer) Brandenburgh in Topeka, Kansas.

Tracie was a 2004 graduate of Seaman High School, Topeka, Kansas. She received her Bachelor degree from Fort Hays State University with a Major in HR and Minor in accounting.

Tracie worked as the HR manager for the past 5 years for (KBID) Kansas Bostwick Irrigation District in Courtland, Kansas.

She enjoyed gardening, fishing, sunrises and most of all spending time with her two loving children, husband and family. All who knew Tracie within her circle called her the Boss Lady and Bulldog.

She is survived by husband, Bret and their two children, Braelyn and Zane of the home in Jamestown, her mother Shari Brandenburgh, Topeka, KS.; her father, Tom Brandenburgh (Jeanine), Topeka, KS.; sister, Ashleigh Brandenburgh, Topeka, KS.; Half-Brother, Jeremy Shreve (Lisa) and their Children, Jay and Tyler Rae, Scranton, KS.; mother and father-in-law, Brad and Sherry Nelson, Jamestown, KS.; brother-in-law, Mark Nelson (Starla) and their two children, Mara and Harper Nelson, Jamestown, KS.; Grandmother, Donna Brandenburgh, Topeka, KS.; several aunts, uncles, cousins and many close friends.

Tracie was preceded in death by paternal Grandfather, Don Brandenburgh, maternal Grandparents, George and Lynn Behymer and maternal Grandmother, Juanita Hanika.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 12, 2019 from 1-8 p.m. at the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia. Family will receive friends from 6-8 pm.

Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, June 13, 2019 at Pike Valley Elementary School, Courtland, Kansas, with Pastor Earl Hale officiating. Burial will follow in the Saron Baptist Cemetery, rural Jamestown, Kansas.
