Concordia High School Baseball All-Decade Team: Outfielders
The Concordia High School Baseball team was poised to enter the 2020 season with high expectations after winning back-to-back North Central Kansas League titles and reaching the championship game in last year's 3A Regional Baseball Tournament before the Kansas State High School Activities Association last month announced the cancellation of all spring championships, competitions, and festivals for the remainder of this school year.
The last decade for the Panther Baseball program was one of the most successful decades in all of Concordia sports history. From 2010 to 2019, the Concordia High School Baseball team won eight North Central Kansas League titles, played in nine regional championship games, appeared in five state tournaments, and twice reached the state title game.
With the program unable to move onto the next decade this spring, KNCK is taking a final look back at the decade that just wrapped up by unveiling KNCK's All-Decade Concordia High School Baseball Team.
Over the past week, with the assistance of Concordia Head Coach Brandt Hutchinson, a four-person committee cast their votes for the best players by position. To qualify for the All-Decade ballot, a player must have played in the decade, earned First Team All-North Central Kansas League recognition, and received a vote from the voting committee. Players can only be named All-Decade at one position.
The voting committee consisted of former Concordia Head Coach Gerald Sorell who was instrumental in starting the Panther Baseball program; former Panther Baseball standout and current Cloud County Community College Head Coach Eric Gilliland; Concordia High School Baseball Alumni Coordinator Justin Diederich; and KNCK Sports Director Toby Nosker.
On Friday, April 24th, we revealed our list of the top Concordia High School Pitchers from the decade. You can view that list here: Concordia High School Baseball All-Decade Team: Pitchers
Today, we announce the top Panther Outfielders from the past 10 years.
