Four Concordia High School Wrestlers Pick Up Postseason Honors
The Concordia High School Varsity Wrestling team has recognized four individuals with postseason honors.
Panther Junior Hunter Schroeder was named the team's Outstanding Wrestler. Schroeder captured a 2nd place medal at 182 lbs. at the 2020 Kansas State High School Activities Association Class 4A State Wrestling Tournament in Salina. A two-time state medalist, Hunter became the first Concordia High School Boys Wrestler to reach a state title match since Skyler Hittle in 2014 and the second state medalist for the program that week after Panther Senior Kassidy Leiszler earned a 2nd place medal at 101 lbs. at the inaugural All Classes Girls State Tournament in Salina.
Hunter concluded the year at 32-6 overall with 23 falls.
Kassidy was named the team's Female Wrestler of the Year. Leiszler ended the season at 19-4 overall.
Koby Tyler picked up the team's Young Wrestler of the Year honor. Koby, 120 lbs., finished his season at 24-11 overall.
And the Concordia High School Coaches recognized Senior Jordan Anguish with the Panther Leader Award. Competing at 113 lbs., Anguish made his second consecutive trip to the state tournament this year, reaching the consolation quarterfinals. Jordan ended his senior season at 33-11 on the year with 21 falls.
