It may be hard to believe with the temperatures outside, but fall is right around the corner.

Along with the fall season comes Open Enrollment for Medicare Part D Prescription Drug Plans.  The Open Enrollment for 2023 Medicare Part D Prescription Drug Plans will run from October 15th through December 7th.  River Valley District Adult Development and Aging Agent Jordan Schuette says this is an annual opportunity for Medicare Beneficiaries to compare Part D plans for drug coverage and pricing.

There are two different ways Medicare Beneficiaries can review their options.  One way for Medicare Beneficiaries to review their prescription drug plan is online.  During Open Enrollment, you can go online to medicare.gov, log in to your account, enter your prescriptions, compare the drug plans, and select the best option.

Another way to review your prescription drug plan is to meet with a Senior Health Insurance Counseling for Kansas (SHICK) Counselor.  Schuette encourages you to contact your local River Valley Extension District Office to schedule an Open Enrollment Part D Prescription Drug appointment with a SHICK Counselor today.  Your local office will be able to help schedule an appointment for you or provide referrals if the schedule is full.

There is no cost to meet with a SHICK Counselor to review your Part D Prescription Drug Plan options.

The River Valley Extension District thanks the SHICK Counselors who will be counseling Medicare Beneficiaries with Part D.
