A burn ban that was issued February 14th remains in effect throughout Cloud County.

Agriculture burning can present risk of harm to neighboring lands, neighboring residents and users of public roads, the resolution adopted by the Cloud County Commission states.

The burn ban remains in place until rescinded.  Violation of this resolution, upon conviction, is punishable by a fine of $250.00 per day of violation per location.  In addition, violators will be required to pay restitution for all damages done by a fire set in violation of this resolution and will be required to reimburse the fire departments at the FEMA reimbursement rates.

The National Weather Service Office in Topeka reports 0.08 of moisture and between an inch and two inches of snow fell in Concordia on Sunday, March 6th, causing slick and hazardous travel conditions.  Skies will become mostly sunny Monday, March 7th with highs in the mid 30s to lower 40s.

Another cold front will move through the area Wednesday, March 9th, bringing a chance for rain which will mix with and turn to snow across much of the area Wednesday night.  An upper level storm system will bring periods of snow across the area Thursday, March 10th through Friday, March 11th.  It remains too early to say how much snow the area will receive.
