A group of Cloud County stakeholders are assessing child care needs in the county by surveying parents to learn about their child care preferences along with child care challenges they may be facing.

The Concordia Education Fund recently received a grant from Child Care Aware of Kansas to help the community recognize its early childcare needs and collectively build solutions to serve all families in the area.  The grant led to the formation of the Cloud County Kids Coalition, which will work with business and industry leaders to define the needs of early child care in Cloud County.

Kim Muff, Director of the Concordia Education Fund, says the Cloud County Kids Coalition is researching and analyzing the needs of local families and children, the current supply of regulated child care, parents' current and preferred child care choices, effects on employers caused by lack of child care, and child care providers' challenges operating.
