The Concordia City Commission met for a brief regular meeting on Wednesday, May 3rd.

During the meeting, Neil Phillips with Jarred, Gilmore & Phillips presented the 2022 Audit Report.  Phillips expressed an unmodified opinion, concluding the financial statements present a true and fair reflection of the city's results.  The commission voted to accept the audit and authorized Mayor Chuck Lambertz to sign the management representation letter.

The commission also voted to appoint Peggy Scarth and reappoint Lindsay Metcalf to the Frank Carlson Library Board of Trustees.

Mayor Lambertz proclaimed May is Motorcycle Awareness Month in the City of Concordia, asking all motor vehicle operators to unite in an effort to keep the city streets and highways safe as motorists and motorcyclists share the roadways.

A proclamation also was read for Public Service Recognition Week, May 7th through May 13th.  Every year since 1985, the first week of May has been set aside as Public Service Recognition Week, a time to thank dedicated public servants from federal, state, and local governments across the country.

Public Works Director Fuller Bates reported during the city's annual clean-up the week of April 17th, the city collected 55 truck loads of trees, 34 truck loads of construction debris, 20 truck loads of metal, 16 truck loads of miscellaneous items, and more than 1,000 passenger car and truck tires.
