Concordia Elementary School's Annual School Marathon Begins Monday

Concordia Elementary School once again will host a school marathon challenge, getting students and school community up and moving.

This year's CES School Marathon is scheduled to begin Monday, August 22nd and finish on Friday, September 30th.

School Marathon is a full 26.2 mile marathon that is available for all Concordia Elementary school children in grades 1 – 4.  Concordia Physical Education and Health teacher Rick Haden says the running of the marathon will be accomplished by running one mile at a time Monday through Friday over a six-week period.

School Marathon allows the students at Concordia Elementary School to learn at an early age ways to have an active, healthy lifestyle, have fun and make great friendships.

Haden says there are special days planned where family and community members are also invited to join in the run.

This year marks the 10th year for the CES School Marathon.

All registrations are due Friday, August 19th.
