On a recent edition of the River Valley Scoop, KNCK's Caleb Lausen visited with Kaitlin Moore to discuss the Double-Up Food Bucks program that will be part of the Concordia Farmers Market for 2026.

Moore, the Nutrition, Food Safety, and Health Agent with the River Valley Extension District, discusses details about the Double-Up Food Bucks program.

Moore shares how SNAP customers at the Farmers Market can use their SNAP Dollars and get them matched to purchase more fresh produce.

Moore shared information from an article by the Center for Rural Affairs that stated that studies have shown that implementing programs like Double-Up Food Bucks can grow small and medium farms, and increase produce vendor sales by as much as 85 percent. 

She also spoke about how this program can increase the sales of Farmers Market vendors who sell other items besides produce.
