Concordia Native Lyndsey Kopsa Returns to Hometown to Lead Frank Carlson Library
The Frank Carlson Library welcomed Lyndsey Kopsa as its new librarian this month.
Kopsa succeeds Denise de Rochefort-Reynolds, who announced her retirement this summer after 39 years at the helm of the Frank Carlson Library.
At a young age, Kopsa, a Concordia native, discovered a love of books and the library.
Kopsa, a 2009 graduate of Concordia High School, holds a master of library science degree from Emporia State University.
Prior to joining the Frank Carlson Library, Kopsa served as director of the Hennessey Public Library in Hennessey, Oklahoma.
Kopsa said she always kept an eye out for an opportunity to return to Concordia.
Kopsa began at the Frank Carlson Library on August 1st, spending this month learning with de Rochefort-Reynolds.
De Rochefort-Reynolds' last day is Wednesday, August 31st.
Kopsa wants the Frank Carlson Library to remain a vital space for family engagement, and a place that will attract a variety of ages and interests.
The Frank Carlson Library, located at 702 Broadway Street in Concordia, serves Concordia, Cloud County, and North Central Kansas. Its mission is to meet the educational, informational, and recreational needs of the community and surrounding area.
