Beginning Wednesday, May 1st, the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) plans to begin a field survey to gather information necessary for proposed bridge improvements on K-18 in Ottawa County.

The proposed bridge is located over Antelope Creek, just west of the US Highway 81/K-18 junction.  The length of the field survey will be about 1,000 feet and the survey will be based on existing highway alignment.

Survey activities will include the use of survey instruments on the ground to determine locations of existing features within the corridor.  A member of the survey crew will contact property owners or tenants for permission to enter private property.

KDOT expects this survey to be completed by May 23rd.

Kara LaRiviere, P.S., Survey Project Manager, with KDOT will be in charge of this survey for KDOT.  Persons with questions may contact KDOT Public Affairs Manager Ashley Perez at (785) 826-6799.
