Heartland Gamebirds Unveils Mess Hall Event Space

Heartland Gamebirds welcomed the public to the Grand Opening of Mess Hall, an event space connected to the Heartland Lodge, located at 404 Main St, Courtland.  Over 200 guests eagerly walked through the doors, admiring the renovation while enjoying cocktails and hors d’oeuvres.

The upscale, rustic and versatile event space made big impressions on visitors faces as they walked through the doors on Saturday, January 20th.  Mayor Robin Carlson exclaims, “We are thrilled about the completion and opening of Heartland Gamebirds Mess Hall.  I believe this combination of history and community signifies our commitment to honoring our past while building our future.  This new endeavor undoubtedly speaks volumes about the Community of Courtland's continuous strive for development while remaining true to our roots. A ribbon cutting took place where the owners, Clay & Bethany Wallin, along with their four children, and Mayor Carlson, celebrated the Grand Opening. Owner, Clay Wallin shares,  “If I have ever doubted what measure of support the Courtland Community has for HGB [Heartland Gamebirds], myself and my family, all I had to do was open my eyes to witness every person present for the Mess Hall Grand Opening.  I spent a lot of my younger years in this building and to bring another 100+ years of memories to fruition is all the gratitude I need.  The structure
may have changed names over the years, however, it’s the ability to stack thousands of more memories in the years to come now remains constant!  What the future holds for this place is something you won’t want to miss.”

Heartland Gamebirds is a pheasant hunting outfit that owns and operates Mess Hall and The Lodge in downtown Courtland.  Mess Hall features a full scale commercial kitchen with some of the finest appliances and finishes, two bathrooms, tables/chairs, projector and TV.  Next to Mess Hall is The Lodge, with the hosting capacity 25 guests with 18 beds, two full kitchens and in unit washer/dryers.  Mess Hall is available to rent for $150 for the first four hours and $75 for every hour after.  To reserve your date for Mess Hall, contact Bethany at (785) 527-0007 or heartlandgamebirds@gmail.com.
