Cloud County Health Center Auxiliary officers for 2023 were installed at their January 25th meeting held in the conference rooms of the hospital.  Auxiliary members enjoyed a delicious meal prepared by the hospital’s food service department.  Pam Campbell, Director of Volunteer Services, conducted the installation ceremony around the theme of Cheery O’s (Cheery Officers).  Each officer received a box of cereal to reflect the duties of their office.

Officers installed for 2023 were Marilyn Flesher, President; Shirley Moynihan, Vice President; Marie Cairns, Secretary; Janet Istas, Treasurer.

All attending members were given a small heart with chocolates to remind them they are the heart of the organization.  The state logo and motto this year is “Volunteers – the Heart of the Community”.

Campbell says the purpose of the auxiliary is to render service to the hospital and its patients and to assist North Central Kansas Medical Center in promoting the health and welfare of the community.

Every year, CCHC Auxiliary raises funds to assist in purchasing needed equipment for the hospital.  In 2022 the Auxiliary donated funds to purchase a refrigerated display case and a salad bar for the Food Service department.  Other activities last year included scholarships for students entering a healthcare field of study, serving a meal for the community Red Cross Bloodmobile, sponsoring hospital-wide yard sale, linen sale fundraiser, bake sale at Fall Fest, float depicting old and new hospital in the Fall Fest parade, and the food sale at the hospital-wide auction.

The Gift Shop at the hospital is operated by the Auxiliary, and they are excited about their space on main street of North Central Kansas Medical Center.  Campbell says Janet Istas serves as the manager for the Gift Shop and encourages patients and visitors to come in and see what’s new.
