Ashley Hutchinson won a second term on the Concordia City Commission on Tuesday, November 7th, while Christy Hasch will return to the body after previously serving nine years on the commission.

Hutchinson was the leading vote-getter among five candidates for the two seats on the commission, drawing 471 votes.  Hutchinson, the Director of Governmental Relations/Affiliate Marketing and Public Relations for Salina Regional Health Center and the North Central Kansas Medical Center in Concordia, was first elected to the city commission in 2020.  Hutchinson served as Mayor in 2022, presiding over commission meetings.

Hasch previously served three terms as commissioner from 2013 to 2022, including a stint as Mayor from April 2015 to January 2017.  After she chose not to seek re-election in 2022, Hasch filed to run for a seat on the Concordia City Commission this fall.  Hasch claimed the second seat with 297 votes.

Members of the commission are elected to serve for a three year term.

Hutchinson and Hasch defeated Dannie Kearn, the former Transportation Director for USD 333 Concordia and the current owner of Kearn Auction House, Incumbent Ragena Belden, the co-owner of Cloud Republic County Title, LLC, and challenger Gary Jeardoe, Jr., who was unsuccessful in his fourth attempt at claiming a seat on the Concordia City Commission in this year's general election.
