K-15 Bridge Replacement Begins This Week in Washington County
Beginning Wednesday, Oct. 12th, the Kansas Department of Transportation will begin work to replace the bridge on K-15 in Washington County. The bridge being replaced spans Ash Creek and is about 1.5 miles south of the Washington City limits.
During construction traffic speed will be reduced, and a temporary traffic signal will direct one lane of traffic through construction via a temporary roadway known as a shoofly. King Construction Company Inc. of Hesston is the prime contractor and has scheduled this $2.8 million project to be completed in September 2023.
KDOT urges all motorists to be alert and obey the warning signs when approaching and driving through a highway work zone. To stay aware of all road construction projects across Kansas, go to kandrive.org or call 5-1-1.
