The Kansas Highway Patrol has released its Thanksgiving Weekend Holiday Activity Report.  The reporting period for the holiday ran from 6 pm on Wednesday, November 23rd through 11:59 pm on Sunday, November 27th.

The Kansas Highway Patrol worked three fatal crashes over the holiday reporting period, including one DUI-related fatal crash.  Fatality accidents occurred in Marion and Harvey Counties.

According to their 2022 enforcement data, the Kansas Highway Patrol made 29 DUI arrests, up from 15 in 2021.  1,087 speed citations and 937 speed warnings were issued.  88 safety belt citations were issued, as well as 13 child restraint citations.  And Kansas Highway Patrol personnel assisted 931 motorists over the holiday reporting period.
