KDOT Announces Approved Highway Construction and Maintenance Projects in North Central Kansas

The Kansas Department of Transportation has announced approved bids for state highway construction and maintenance projects.  The letting took place October 18th in Topeka.

In North Central Kansas, Shilling Construction Co. Inc. of Manhattan, Kansas received the bid for 19.4 miles of a milling and overlay to K-9 Highway from the Cloud/Mitchell County line east to the west city limits of Concordia.  Total cost of the project is $4,079,855.70.

Shilling Construction Co Inc. also received the bid for 9.3 miles of milling and overlay to K-9 Highway from the US Highway 24/K-9 junction east to the Mitchell/Cloud County line.  Total cost of the project is $2,424,384.20.

In Jewell County, APAC-Kansas Inc. Shears Division of Hutchinson received the bid for 22.8 miles of milling and overlay to K-128 from the US Highway 36/K‑128 east junction north to the Kansas/Nebraska state line; and on US Highway 36 from the K‑128/US Highway 36 west junction east to the west city limits of Mankato.  Total cost of the project is $4,941,597.27.

In Clay County, Reece Construction Company, Inc. of Salina received the bid for a bridge replacement of a bridge located 5.3 miles south and 1 mile east of Green over tributary to Spring Creek.  Total cost of the project is $383,996.89.
