On Thursday, October 5th, Kevin Muff notified the Cloud County Clerk's Office of his intent to run a write-in campaign for a position on the Cloud County Community College Board of Trustees.

A member of the Cloud County Community College Athletics Hall of Fame, Muff served 12 years as the head men's basketball coach at Cloud County where he averaged 21 wins per season over his final five years.  Muff led the T-Birds to their first Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference-West Division Title in school history in 2005.

Muff, originally from Salina, also coached five seasons at Wamego High School, five years at Washburn Rural High School in Topeka, and seven seasons as the head men's basketball coach at Pittsburg State University.

Muff, who holds a bachelor of science degree in Education from Kansas State University and a master's degree in Education from Pittsburg State University, returned to the Concordia community in 2022 when he was named Dean of Student Improvement at Concordia Junior/Senior High School.

This fall, three seats are up for election on the college board.  The positions are currently held by Trustees Bruce Graham and Richard Hubert.  The other seat has been left vacant following the passing of Trustee Jim Koch on July 8, 2023.  Koch passed away shortly after refiling for a second term.  His name will remain on the November 7th ballot.

Hubert has refiled for a second term.  Graham chose not to seek re-election.

Kevin Pounds, a former Instructor of Social Sciences at Cloud County Community College, is also seeking a seat on the college's board of trustees.
