KNCK Team Attends Student Broadcast & Sports Seminar in Kansas City

KNCK's Logan Lilja, Jenna McFadden and Mahaylla Ratliff were able to immerse themselves in the world of sports broadcasting at the Kansas Association of Broadcasters Student Broadcast and Sports Seminar on Tuesday, April 23rd.  This dynamic event brings together professional sports broadcasters, college and high school broadcast students and faculty to connect, learn and celebrate the vibrant world of sports broadcasting.

The event, held at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium, kicked off with a keynote address from the Voice of the Kansas City Chiefs, Mitch Holthus.  The day also included a Student Awards Presentation luncheon, where outstanding achievement were celebrated.  Lilja, McFadden and Ratliff also engaged in informative sessions Kansas State play-by-play announcer Wyatt Thompson and the Voice of the Kansas Jayhawks Brian Hanni who spoke about painting a word picture on the radio in the video age.  And they attended a panel discussion, "BroadcastHERS: Shaping the Narrative, Inspiring the Future," with Jillian Carroll (KCTV), Micaela Dea (KAKE TV), and McKenzie Nelson (KSHB).

To add a touch of excitement, the students received a special tour of Arrowhead Stadium before concluding the day by attending the Kansas City Royals vs the Toronto Blue Jays at neighboring Kauffman Stadium.
