National Weather Service to Hold 2024 Storm Spotter Class in Concordia This Week

The National Weather Service Office in Topeka is working together with Cloud County Emergency Management to offer a storm spotter class at Cloud County Community College in Concordia.

The program will be held Thursday, April 11th from 6:30 pm to 8 pm in Room 257 of the President's Addition.  You are asked to park in Parking Lot #3 and take the elevator or stairs to the meeting room.

Chad Omitt, Warning Coordination Meteorologist with the National Weather Service Office in Topeka, says spotters provide critical information during severe weather events that aid in warning operations at the National Weather Service.

If you are interested in helping out your community, or are simply interested in learning more about severe weather, consider attending this week's class.

Omitt will teach thunderstorm development and structure, thunderstorm safety, and what, when, and how to report information.
