The new North Central Kansas Medical Center will officially open its doors to patients on Wednesday, November 16th, but on Friday, October 28th from 1 pm to 3 pm, local residents can get a sneak peek during a community open house.

Cloud County Health Center Administrator Dave Garnas says their staff has been patiently waiting for this day to happen and they are thrilled that their vision of a new hospital has come to fruition.

In an effort to meet the growing health care needs of the community, Cloud County Health Center broke ground on a new single-story, state-of-the-art health care facility in Concordia in March of 2021.  The new facility is located close to US Highway 81 along College Drive.

The Cloud County Health Center will change its name to North Central Kansas Medical Center as it transitions to the new building.

The facility will encompass over 78,000 square-feet of space and include fourteen inpatient beds, 24/7 emergency department, modern surgery suite for expanded surgical procedures, and outpatient services including a variety of pain management services and a wound care clinic.  Their rural health clinic, the Family Care Center, is staffed with seven providers offering appointments and a walk-in clinic with all appurtenant services such as Lab and Diagnostic Imaging.  There is a variety of visiting specialty clinic services including Rheumatology, Nephrology, Dermatology, Ophthalmology, Cardiology, Podiatry, Audiology, Pulmonology, Neurology, Pediatric Neurology, OB/GYN and Orthopedic Surgery.  The new, larger Rehabilitation Department provides physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech pathology, aquatic therapy as well as additional modalities for cardiac rehabilitation patients.

The community open house events on Friday, which are free and open to the public, will provide a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the general public to go behind the scenes of the new hospital before it opens.
