USD 109 Republic County and USD 108 Washington County will both welcome new high school principals in August 2024.

Lindsay Cravens has been appointed as the new principal of Republic County High School.  She will start her position on August 1, 2024.

Cravens and her family are currently living in Phillipsburg, Kansas.  Cravens is serving as the high school principal at USD 271 in Stockton.  She is in her third year in this position.  Previously, she was a school counselor and classroom teacher.

Cravens is married to Sean and has two sons, Layton and Jhett Johnson.  Layton is graduating in May and will attend Kansas State University in the fall.  Jhett is a freshman and is active in FFA and show choir.  They are excited to be moving to Belleville and becoming a part of the Republic County community.  They look forward to meeting the students, staff, parents and community members of USD 109.

Jordan Carlson has been named as the new principal of Washington County Junior/Senior High School.

Carlson received her Bachelor's Degree in Agribusiness as well as Human Ecology with a certificate in Family & Consumer Sciences Education from Kansas State University.  Carlson received her Master's Degree in Education Administration in December 2022.  Carlson has taught many Family & Consumer Sciences courses in the Clay Center school district for the past seven years, and she has also served as the Work-Based Learning Coordinator and Student Council Sponsor.

Carlson grew up in southeast Kansas.  Carlson is married to AJ, a fifth generation farmer, and they have three children, Ellie, Thayer and Ruby.  They are excited to be joining the Washington County school family.
