Retirement Reception for Frank Carlson Library Director Denise de Rochefort-Reynolds to be Held Saturday

The Frank Carlson Library Board of Trustees invites you to join them as they honor Denise de Rochefort-Reynolds, Director, and Alice Bachand, Youth Services Coordinator, at a come-and-go retirement reception and tea Saturday, August 20th from 1 pm to 3 pm in the Carlson Room of the Library.

The event also will be a welcome reception for the new Library Director, Lyndsey Kopsa.

De Rochefort-Reynolds has helmed the Frank Carlson Library since 1983.  During her time at the library, de Rochefort-Reynolds has led a strategic transformation of the library and expanded library services that have put the evolving needs of the community at the forefront.

De Rochefort-Reynolds says her retirement plans include spending additional time traveling to visit family.

Kopsa, a 2009 graduate of Concordia High School, holds a master of library science degree from Emporia State University.  Since 2019, she has served as director of the Hennessey Public Library in Hennessey, Oklahoma.

Kopsa began at the Frank Carlson Library on August 1st, spending the month learning with de Rochefort-Reynolds.

Kopsa says she's looking forward to building on the work that de Rochefort-Reynolds has done.

In Concordia, Kopsa hopes to bring innovation to the directorship, potentially expanding teen services with a teen book group and craft events.  She also knows the importance of catering to loyal patrons by choosing materials and services that accommodate them.

De Rochefort-Reynolds' last day is Wednesday, August 31st.

Concordia Mayor Ashley Hutchinson, a member of the Frank Carlson Library Board of Trustees, told KNCK News de Rochefort-Reynolds has played a huge role in the community.

The Frank Carlson Library serves Concordia, Cloud County, and North Central Kansas.  Its mission is to meet the educational, informational, and recreational needs of the community and surrounding area.
