National 4-H Week is a great opportunity for 4-H members and clubs to share their love for 4-H with others and recruit new members.

This year, National 4-H Week runs October 1st through October 7th.

Kansas 4-H is a vibrant youth development program for K-State Research and Extension.  In 4-H, they are committed to providing positive dynamic learning experiences for as many young people as possible.

Macy Hynek, River Valley District 4-H Youth Development Agent, says 4-H is America's largest youth development organization—empowering nearly six million young people across the United States and over 70,000 youth in Kansas with the skills to lead for a lifetime.

The 4-H calendar year begins October 1 and concludes on September 30th.

4-H Cloverbuds is an educational, youth development opportunity specifically for 5 and 6 year old children in the River Valley Extension Distriction.

To be eligible to participate, Hynek says a child must have celebrated his or her 5th or 6th birthday before January 1st of the current year.

Kansas 4-H is a research-based experience that includes a mentor, a hands-on project, and a meaningful leadership opportunity.  Based on their interests and guided by adult volunteers, youth develop their own pathway in 4‑H.  They select from a broad menu of local 4‑H programs and projects.  There are hands-on, learn by doing, opportunities for everyone.
