Three Treated for Serious Injuries Following Two-Vehicle Crash in Ottawa County

Three people were being treated for serious injuries following a two-vehicle accident in Ottawa County on Tuesday, April 16th.

According to a report from the Kansas Highway Patrol, a 1987 Mack Dump Truck driven by 56-year-old Michael T. Haney of Salina was traveling westbound on Treaty Road around five miles west of Oak Hill.

A 2013 Chevy Pickup, being driven by Vera Lyne, 71 of Clay Center, pulled out of a private driveway onto Treaty Road in front of Haney's vehicle.  The two vehicles collided, with both coming to a rest in the north ditch.

The accident occurred at 4:23 pm Tuesday.

Lyne was taken to Salina Regional Health Center for suspected serious injuries.  She was not wearing her seat belt at the time of the accident.

A juvenile was also present in Lyne's vehicle at the time of the crash, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.

Haney and a passenger in his vehicle, 59-year-old Peter Haney, Jr. of Salina, were also taken to Salina Regional Health Center for suspected serious injuries.  Neither individual was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
