Tricia Koester is KNCK & Subway's Concordia Teacher/Staff Member of the Month for January
KNCK and Subway of Concordia are excited to honor Tricia Koester, 5th grade teacher at Concordia Middle School, as our January 2024 Teacher/Staff Member of the Month.
The public was invited to submit nominations to KNCK this month, letting us know who their favorite teacher or school staff member is in the Concordia school district. Nominations were open for all Concordia Elementary, Middle School and Junior/Senior High School teachers and staff.
Here is the winning nomination we received:
I’d like to nominate Mrs. Koester. She was patient and kind.
My daughter got behind on a few assignments and the issue spiraled out of control. As it turns out she was struggling to understand the work and kept putting it off. Ultimately the load became so difficult for her I had to intervene. I met with Mrs. Koester and she never made my daughter feel poorly. She was so understanding and told her that she was proud of her for doing something about it. Mrs. Koester video called my daughter every evening for a week, sometimes for an hour or more (all in her own free time), to help her both catch back up and understand the curriculum.
I was a very unorganized child and I would have loved to have a teacher like that. It would have changed everything.
My daughter has never had this problem in school again and I absolutely believe it was because Mrs. Koester believed in her, encouraged her, and helped her succeed. It takes teachers like her to make a difference in children’s lives.
KNCK and Subway want to thank Mrs. Koester for all that she does to support her students. In appreciation for her passion for education, KNCK's Toby Nosker presented Mrs. Koester with a gift card to Subway of Concordia on Wednesday, January 31st
All Concordia students and parents are invited to submit nominations for our Teacher/Staff Member of the Month program, sponsored by Subway of Concordia. All you have to do is email your nominations to toby@ncktoday.com. Include the teacher or staff member's name and tell us why they are one-of-a-kind.
The deadline to submit nominations is Friday, February 9th. All previous nominations will be reconsidered, as well. Entries will be judged and a winner will be announced in February on the KNCK family of radio stations and NCKToday.com.
