Two Clay Center residents were treated for injuries following a three-vehicle accident on Interstate-70 in Shawnee County on Wednesday, November 8th.

According to a report from the Kansas Highway Patrol, a 2018 Ford Edge driven by Jarold Ray Milligan, 61 of Clay Center, was traveling eastbound on I-70 at mile marker 352.3.  Also traveling eastbound on I-70 was a 2016 Buick Encore, driven by 52-year-old Kristie Ann Jones of Manhattan, and a 2017 Subaru Outback, driven by 25-year-old Alyssa Mullen of Shawnee.

Jones slowed down because of her windshield fogging up.

Milligan's vehicle ended up rear-ending Jones' vehicle.

Milligan's vehicle was then rear-ended by Mullen's vehicle.

Mullen's vehicle left the roadway to the left and became disabled in the grass median.

Milligan's vehicle was spun around after it was struck and became disabled, facing west in the right lane of eastbound I-70.

The accident occurred at 7:32 am Wednesday.

Milligan and passenger Doreen A. Milligan, 61 of Clay Center, were both taken to Stormont Vail in Topeka for treatment of suspected minor injuries.  Both were wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.

Mullen and Jones, as well as a passenger in Jones' vehicle, 75-year-old Kathy Naidene Jones of Manhattan, were not injured in the crash.
