USD 333 Concordia to Host 2022 Class 4A, 3A, 2A & 1A KSHSAA State Large Group Music Festival

There will be no school for students at USD 333 Concordia on Wednesday, April 13th because the district is hosting the 2022 Class 4A, 3A, 2A & 1A Kansas State High School Activities Association State Large Group Music Festival at Concordia Junior/Senior High School and the Brown Grand Theatre.

USD 333 Concordia will be welcoming 32 schools to the community Wednesday.  Participating are Concordia, Beloit, St. John's-Beloit, Bennington, Blue Valley-Randolph, Clay Center, Clifton-Clyde, Ell-Saline, Ellsworth, Frankfort, Glasco, Hanover, Lakeside, Lincoln, Linn, Marysville, Miltonvale, Minneapolis, Osborne, Pike Valley, Republic County, Riley County, Rock Creek, Rock Hills, St. Xavier, Tescott, Thunder Ridge, Tipton, Valley Heights, Wakefield, Wamego and Washington County.

The Kansas State High School Activities Association sponsored program with the most student participants is in the area of music festivals.  Average attendance at these festivals has been in excess of 41,000 senior high school students.

Music state large group contest is a Kansas State High School Activities Association sponsored event.  Kansas State High School Activities Association mission is to "serve students by providing leadership for the administration of education based interscholastic activities," according to kshsaa.org.  Their mission statement claims they're a student-centered organization and a recognized state authority on such activities.  In regards to music, the Kansas State High School Activities Association sponsors a variety of events, but some of the most notable include solo/small ensemble, at both the regional and state level, and large group contest.
