Carla Jane Thoman

Carla Jane Thoman, 69, of Concordia, Kansas, died at the Republic County Hospital in Belleville, Kansas on Monday, July 31, 2023. She was born in Concordia, Kansas on July 24, 1954 to Carl and Marian (Johnson) Kallman. 

She graduated from Scandia High School in 1972.

Carla married Chris Thoman on July 14, 1990, and they have four children, Jennifer, Joshua, Jeremy, and Terri. 

Carla worked as a manager for 20 years at Pizza Hut in Concordia. Carla also worked earlier in life at The Thunderbird, as a waitress, where she met Chris.

She loved watching sports from Concordia High School Athletics to KU basketball, and Royals and Braves baseball. She and Chris were 30 year season tickets holders to the Kansas City Chiefs. 

She will be remembered as a mother who loved her kids and family fiercely.

Carla is survived by her children Jennifer Thoman of Atlanta, GA, Joshua (Adam) Thoman of Offerle, KS, Jeremy (Clare) Thoman of Kyle, TX, and Terri (Gabe) Hemenway of Hutchinson, KS; 5 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren; brothers, Jay Kallman, Paul Kallman; caretakers, Alexis Minick, Marlee Hammond.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Chris and her parents.

Services will be held at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home on Friday August 4, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. with burial following at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.  Samantha Stensaas will be the Celebrant.  Visitation will occur on August 3, 2023 from 1:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. with family greeting friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00p.m.

Carla and Chris’s final wish was for all in attendance to be in Chiefs gear.
