Jean Estelle Peters, the daughter of Robert Bouchard and Phyllis Estelle (Brandon) Bouchard was born August 15, 1948 in Canyon City, Colorado and passed away on September 9, 2022 at Republic County Hospital, Belleville, KS at the age of 74 years, and 24 days.

Jean grew up in the Penrose, Florence, and the Westcliffe, Colorado area.   She completed her schooling and later attended Business College for one year.    Jean lived in Pueblo, Co for several years, working as a secretary for the Firestone Tire Company.    She met Eugene Peters in 1968.  They were united in marriage in 1969 and they moved to the family farm in the Cuba, KS area where they lived for 21 years.

She later worked for Region V Adult Services in Fairbury, NE for 20 years, working as an in house caregiver and later as an administrative med aide.   She retired to Munden, KS and recently had moved to Belleville, KS.

Jean was a member of the Eastern Star for several years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Phyllis Bouchard;  brother, Pat; sister, Yvonne Piquette, and granddaughter, Raelene Henderson.

Jean is survived by two sons, Matthew (Rachel) Peters of Belleville, KS and Shawn (Karen) Woolsey of Belleville, KS; 3 grandchildren:  Taylor Peters, Trevon Peters, and Tess Woolsey;  3 great grandchildren:  Trenton Zenger, Elora Henderson, and Brock Henderson;  three brothers,  Mike (Patty) Bouchard of Pueblo, CO,  Jerry (Marsha) Bouchard and Tom (Vashaun) Bouchard all of Canyon City, CO;  other relatives and friends.

Cremation was selected and a Memorial Gathering will be held from 4PM until 6PM, Saturday, October 8, 2022 at the Bachelor-Surber Funeral Home, Belleville, Kansas.   Friends may sign the register book and greet the family at this time. 

Inurnment and graveside services will be held at a later date in Colorado.

Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
