Kenny L. Mulch, 85, of Belleville, KS, the son of Kenneth Coleman Mulch and Hazel (McNeil) Mulch, was born December 25, 1937 in rural Munden, Kansas and passed away on September 28, 2023 at the Jewell County Hospital-ISB, Mankato, Kansas.

Kenny grew up and attended school in Munden, Kansas and later graduated from Belleville High School.    He then attended Kansas Wesleyan College in Salina, Kansas where he played football, attaining a Bachelor’s Degree.     He later received his Master’s Degree in Math from Oregon University.

Kenny was an educator for many years and also coached football and was an assistant coach for track and basketball in Belleville.  He worked for the Houghton-Mifflin Text Book Company, starting as a salesman and later becoming a vice-president, where he assisted with the production of math text books.   Kenny would miss teaching and return to education through the years and later return to work with the text book company until his retirement.

On June 11, 1955, he was united in marriage to Wilma Ellen Dooley and to this union was born:   Michelle, Lisa, and Mitch.  They were married 68 years, retiring to Belleville, KS to make their home.            

Kenny was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Belleville, KS.

He was a member of the Belleville Country Club and a former member of Lions Club.   He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed hunting, golf and sports.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Hazel Mulch; daughter, Michelle R. Mulch Culwell; sisters, Betty Trizicky, Georgia Snyder and Dixie Hoyt.

Kenny is survived by his wife Wilma Mulch of Mankato, KS;  daughter, Lisa Mulch of Concordia, KS;  son, Mitch Mulch of Ellinwood, KS;  3 grandchildren,  Sarah Schleicher of Concordia, KS,  Kyle (Danielle) Culwell of Dodge City, KS, and Kenneth “Cole”  (Jessica) Mulch of Junction City, KS;  great grandchildren,  Kale Culwell and Brady Culwell;  son-in-law,  Ron Culwell, of Grove, Oklahoma;  nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Celebration of Life Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, December 2, 2023 at the First United Methodist Church, Belleville, KS with Pastor Amos McCarthy, officiating.

Inurnment will be held at a later time at Pleasant View Cemetery, rural Belleville, KS.

Friends may sign the register book from 1 PM until 5 PM on Friday, Dec. 1, 2023 at Bachelor-Surber Funeral Home, Belleville.

The family will greet friends from 10 AM until 11 AM on Saturday, Dec. 2nd at the Church prior to the services.

Memorials are suggested to Neighbor to Neighbor, Concordia, KS and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
