LaVonne A. Thomas, daughter of Anton Havel and Emma (Kauer) Havel Conn was born May 20, 1934 at Cuba, Kansas and passed away on June 23, 2022 at Belleville Health Care Center, Belleville, Kansas at the age of 88.

LaVonne graduated from Belleville High School, Belleville, KS    She was united in marriage to Clarence A. Thomas on June 17, 1956 and to this union one daughter Susan was born.   They lived in Camarillo, California for many years.  LaVonne worked in banking for many years, and was employed by the Bank of Alevy until her retirement.   They moved back to Belleville, Kansas in 1987.   LaVonne enjoyed her family and loved music and dancing.  She was a member of the Beta Delphian Study Club of Belleville, Kansas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Anton Havel and Emma (Kauer) Conn, husband, Clarence Thomas, two sisters, Viola Drapel, Venis Dean Kasper, one brother, Clarence Havel.

She is survived by one daughter, Susan Montague of Salina, Kansas, two grandchildren, Catherine (Ernest) Lazo, Jason Montague, two great grandchildren, Emma Lazo, William Lazo, nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, June 27, 2022 at Bachelor-Surber Memorial Chapel, Belleville, Kansas, conducted by, Pastor Roger Walls.

Interment will be in Belleville Cemetery, Belleville, Kansas.

Memorials may be given to Saint Francis Christmas for Kids or Alzheimer’s Association.

Friends may call on Sunday, June 26, 2022  from 1 PM to 8 PM at Bachelor-Surber Funeral Home, Belleville, KS.   The family will greet friends on Monday, June 27, 2022 one hour prior to the service at the funeral home  from 10 AM to 11 AM.
