Terry Moyer, age 58, entered into rest on Saturday, October 22, 2022, surrounded by his family in Salina, KS. He was born on February 20, 1964, in Ionia, Kansas to Wendell and Karen (Loomis) Moyer.

Terry graduated from Jewell High School, class of 1982. He earned his Associates degree in criminal justice from Barton Community College in 1985. 

On July 20, 1985, he married Lois (Erickson) Moyer in Lindsborg, Kansas. They were blessed with four children, Scott, Steven, Seth and Stephanie. 

He started his law enforcement career in Ellsworth in 1985, where he was later promoted to the Chief of Police. While in Ellsworth, Terry also volunteered as an EMT at Ellsworth County Ambulance along with his wife, Lois. Working as an EMT, he received the Red Cross Life Saving Award. He later moved to the Salina area and pursued a career at Midwest Security as the lead supervisor. To accommodate his family-life better, Terry joined American Electric, then Kris Davis (Boarderstates Electric). 

Terry’s hobbies included hunting, fishing and going out shooting at the gun range. He enjoyed many adventures with his family. Terry’s big heart led him to many volunteer events, one being his concession stand. His love of cooking turned into the Wagon Wheel Concessions and later his cotton candy stand, which was free for all. His most recent love involved his motorcycle trike and cruising around town with his beautiful bride and going on poker runs. 

As a child, Terry was a member of 4-H and FFA, where he won many awards for showing livestock, learning many lifelong lessons. Terry was always involved in the Saline County Mounted Patrol & Rescue Squad and part of the Eddie Eagle Gun safety program teaching different types of gun safety classes. He was also involved in teaching Hunter Education and D.A.R.E. classes. He was a member of Sons of the American Legion, the Ionia Methodist Church, then later changed his membership to the Lutheran Church.

Terry never knew a stranger and he loved graciously. He was always lending a helping hand. 

Survivors include his wife, Lois Moyer, Salina, KS; Sons, Scott Moyer, Jewell, KS, Steven (Brei) Moyer, Seth Moyer, Salina, KS; daughter, Stephanie (Rhett) Radmer, St. Joseph, MO; Sisters, Becky (Daryl) Cockroft and Debra (Darrell) Bohnert, Jewell, KS; Sister-in-law, Lorna Schriner, Broken Arrow, OK; 5 grandchildren: Arianna, Luis, Alex, Kaden, and Natalie;  and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and nephew, Noah Schriner. 

Visitation will be held from 3-7 p.m., Monday, October 24, 2022 at St John’s Lutheran Church, Salina KS AND 1-7 p.m., Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at Kleppinger Funeral Home, Jewell, KS. Family will be greeting friends from 5-7 p.m. on both days. 

Funeral Services will be on Wednesday, October 26, 2022, at 10 a.m. at the Jewell Christian Church in Jewell, KS with Pastor Dan Daniels officiating. Burial will follow at Athens Cemetery, Ionia, KS. 

The Family suggest that memorials be made to Emerson Lake, Jewell Gun Club or Eddie Eagle Gun Safety Program in care Kleppinger Funeral Home, Jewell, KS.
