Vaneta E. Moore, the daughter of Robert Dean Kopsa and Eileen (Welch) Kopsa, was born August 16, 1955 in Fairbury, NE and passed away on June 5, 2023 at her home in rural Munden, KS at the age of 67 years, 9 months, and 19 days.

Vaneta attended grade school in Hubbell, NE and then graduated from the Chester/Hubbell High School in Chester, NE.     She was confirmed and baptized at the Zion Lutheran Church, Hubbell, NE

Following her schooling, she worked as a surgery assistant at Republic County Hospital for a time.   Through the years, Vaneta also worked at Foote’s South Station in Chester, NE (where she met her future husband, Gerald Moore) Wheelers General Store, Belleville, KS; Struve Enterprises, and at Lambriar Kennels in Mahaska.  Vaneta spent most of her life as a partner in farming with her husband, Gerald and during fair time worked at the Commercial Building at the NCK Fairgrounds.

On November 19, 1976, she was united in marriage to Gerald Moore.

The couple lived in Belleville in their early years, later moving to the house that they rebuilt together at their farm in rural Munden.

She was a member of the American Lutheran Church in Belleville, KS

Vaneta was preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Eileen; one sister, Peggy Iwert; step-mother, Phyllis Kopsa, and sister-in-law, Glenda S. Moore.

Vaneta is survived by her husband, Gerald Moore of rural Munden, Kansas; Three sons,  Andy (Julinne) Moore of Sabetha, KS, Luke (Tracey) Moore of Munden, KS, and Daniel Moore of rural Munden, KS;  three grandchildren, Audrey Moore, Ella Moore and Elizabeth Moore;   three sisters,  Becky (Mick) Gausman of Chester, NE, Rebecca (Arlan) Benyshek of rural Cuba, KS, and Lana Kopsa of Lincoln, NE; one brother, Kevin Kopsa of Chester;  other relatives, and many friends.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 10 AM, Friday, June 9, 2023 at the Regester Cemetery, rural Munden, KS with Pastor Brian Faust, officiating.

Interment will follow the graveside services.

A closed casket was requested.    Friends may sign the register book from 1 PM until 6 PM Thursday at Bachelor-Surber Funeral and prior to the graveside Friday morning at the cemetery.   

A fellowship will follow the service at the Munden Community Hall, Munden, KS.

Memorials are suggested the Meadowlark Hospice or the Humane Society of Salina, KS.
